Our core muscles support us in essential ways—physically and energetically. Our core is far more than surface muscle; it is the deep center that stabilizes the spine, supports organ function, influences breath, and relates to the first three energy centers or chakras. When our core is weak or overly tense, we may experience back pain, instability, shallow breathing, or a sense of disconnection from our center. Through mindful, subtle practice, we can cultivate a strength that is responsive rather than rigid, and a stability that feels grounded yet easy.
This workshop will focus less on intensity and more on moving at a thoughtful pace. We will emphasize breathwork, refined awareness, and gentle, supportive movement. We will explore the anatomy of the deep core muscles and observe the influence of pranayama, or breathwork, on our energetic center. In addition, we will learn about the relationship between the lower three chakras and our sense of stability, creativity, and personal power, all of which find their home in our core.
Open to all levels, participants should be comfortable getting up and down from the floor with ease.
