A full day dedicated to honoring our Vietnam era veterans will begin at 11:00 a.m. on March 29, 2025, at the Military Heritage Museum located at 900 West Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, Florida. This is a day of recognizing, honoring, and thanking our Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice during one of the longest wars in our country’s history.
The Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Day ceremony, which is free to the public, will include patriotic music, color guard, and speeches to show our appreciation. The featured speaker is Robert Fulton, a decorated veteran who flew over three hundred combat missions as a Cobra Gunship Pilot in Vietnam. After Vietnam, he embarked on an almost fifty-year career as a pilot and has authored two books, Up in the Air, a pilot’s journey, an aviation memoir, and Shadow Children of Saigon, a novel. In addition to speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Fulton will give a more in-depth presentation at 1:00 p.m. in the Gulf Theater as part of our full-access admission package.
Before and after the ceremony, Vietnam veterans will be admitted free of charge to the Military Heritage Museum to enjoy the veteran speaker, flight simulators, virtual reality, galleries, exhibits, Huey Helicopter cockpit tours (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), Live Ham Radio (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and a Vietnam-themed documentary. Regular adult admission is $16, other veterans $14, and kids 5-14 are $5 that day.
