"The ancient teachings of yoga also dealt with the opening and quieting of the organs of the body, like the heart, kidneys, and liver, that are found in the 'kunda' or vessel holding these organs." ~ Judith Hanson Lasater
Yoga is often practiced with a focus on muscles and bones—but what happens when we shift our awareness deeper inward? This workshop invites you to explore how yoga can support the health and vitality of internal organs. We’ll begin with a brief discussion about key bodily systems and organs. This will lead us into a time of focus and intention that will include both active and quiet practices.
Our active practice will include a sequence of poses—such as backbends, twists, and forward folds—that help tone, open, and stimulate the organs, creating space and balance within. Then the quiet practice of Restorative yoga, pranayama, and meditation will encourage rest and foster a deeper connection to your body. Throughout the afternoon, you’ll be guided to sense, feel, stabilize and find balance from the inside out. No experience needed. All are welcome.
