Free Saturday Morning Bike Ride

    Want to meet new people? Acme Bicycle Shop offers weekly Saturday morning guided bicycle rides through Punta Gorda. We have a group for every level of rider, whether you are a speed demon or just a cruiser. We ask that you arrive around 8 am to get geared up, pumped up and organized into a group. Our rides depart at 8:30 am sharp.
    Helmets are REQUIRED!!!!! This is an adults only ride. A liability release must be signed by all riders. The rides are on public roadways and all riders must obey Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law. All riders are responsible for their own safety. Acme and the ride leaders assume no liability for any participant.
    Rides go out every Saturday unless the temperature is below 50 degrees, rain or fog, or very poor visibility. If it is questionable please call the shop at 941-639-2263.

 We have three levels of rides.
    Level B

• Energetic/fast
• 16-25 mph average speed
• Ride is up to 40 miles
• Pace Line Riding
• Returns to shop between 11 and 11:30 am

    Level C

• Moderate
• 13-16 mph average speed
• Ride is up to 35 miles
• Returns to shop between 11 and 11:30 am

Level D

• Leisure
• 12 mph or slower
• Ride is tailored to rider's desires
• Returns to shop around 10 am

The C and D level rides do not drop riders. We adjust our pace to never leave anyone behind. Riders who chose to ride ahead and faster are free to do so, but the ride leader will never abandon any slower riders. Some rides are loops with opportunities to shorten the route if you desire. Just ask the ride leader for directions back to the starting point. Safety is very important and all riders must wear an approved helmet. All bicycles must have sound tires and properly functioning brakes. Should the ride leader feel that a bicycle or rider is unsafe or a hazard to other riders in the group, they may ask the rider to either correct the problem or sit out on that ride.

The best part of our rides is that they are free and open to the public. In town for the weekend, that's ok join our ride and not miss out on your exercise routine. We hope to see you there.
