Name: Green Dot Bystander Intervention Program Introduction
Date: January 25, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST
Event Description:
Come to Copperfish Books on Tuesday, January 25 at 6 pm to learn about the Charlotte County Green Dot bystander intervention program, which is a proven approach to prevent violence with the help of bystanders. This introduction will be given by Chris Hall of the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (C.A.R.E.).

The mission of bystander intervention is to reduce power-based violence by being an active, rather than passive, bystander. The Green Dot program teaches communities how to identify signs of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, bullying, child abuse, and elder abuse...whether it's happening right now or has already occurred. Once identified, Green Dot provides community members with a variety of ways that they can take action. The goal of Charlotte County Green Dot is to build a legacy of non-violence for years to come, starting with us.

This is an introduction to the training program and will last about an hour. Attendees will learn about upcoming opportunities to participate in training sessions given in our community.
