Event Description:
This day-long intensive will explore the foundational and practical skills necessary to teach in a creative, mindful, and rewarding way for both the teacher and the student. Topics will include the physical, mental, and energetic effects of basic postures; the principles of a well-balanced and mindful yoga class; and how to develop safe and effective posture sequences that move beyond the single class to help students grow within a coherent, longer-term program. Through practice, discussion, group work, and student-teaching, participants will gain a more complete understanding of the dynamic art of sequencing a safe and effective yoga class. While the focus is on teaching yoga, this workshop is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the yoga practice. This workshop is part of The Yoga Sanctuary’s Mentoring Program and counts towards continuing education hours. Cost is $108.
