DESCRIPTION:SCOTTISH - IRISH CELEBRATION OPEN TO THE PUBLIC\n\nInvite your friends to this music celebration!\n \n\n \n\nBurnt Store Presbyterian  Church is thrilled to announce  a Scottish-Irish Celebration on Sunday\,\n\nOctober 25th at 6:00 PM\, featuring Brian Gurl and Carlann Evans. An evening of Celtic music.\n\n\n\nBrian Gurl was once described as a combination of Liberace\, Vladimir Horowitz and Roger\n\nWilliams\," Brian captivates audiences with his imaginative musical arrangements\, and engaging\n\npersona. Born and raised in New Hampshire\, Gurl began studying classical piano at the age of six.\n\nHis gift of perfect pitch was discovered by his father one day when Brian asked\, "Why is the lawn\n\nmower running in the key of G?" By age eight\, Gurl was entertaining classmates and friends by\n\nplaying popular melodies he heard on radio and television by ear. Much to the chagrin of his piano\n\nteacher\, he also began sneaking in rhythmic and melodic embellishments to his own renditions of\n\nChopin and Beethoven. He studied classical piano throughout high school while continuing to\n\ninvestigate other genres.\n\n \n\nCarlann Evans has been a member of the Sarasota Orchestra since 2002. She was formerly a member of\n\nthe Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife\, the Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia and the Orquesta Sinfonica de\n\nGran Canaria in Spain. While in Spain\, she also performed with the BBC Scottish Symphony and toured\n\nextensively throughout Europe\, working with such renowned conductors and artists as Osmo Vanska\,\n\nMatthais Bamert\, Fredericka von Stade and Mstislav Rostropovich. Coming to Florida\, she played with the Naples Philharmonic and the Florida Orchestra before landing in Sarasota.\n\n\n\nTickets are available for a $25.00 donation at the church\, which go on sale in August. You won't want to miss this joyful event.
