DESCRIPTION:The public is cordially invited to come to our September Afternoon Social at the Punta Gorda Civic Association where you will hear our guest speakers tell us about the history\, traditions\, features and people that have made Punta Gorda such a unique and charming place to call home.\n\n\n\nThis month\, we are pleased to have as our guest speaker Libby Shaefer\, author of The Ladies of Punta Gorda.  She will tell us in an entertaining way about some of the women who had a significant impact on the history and development of Punta Gorda.\n\n\n\nThursday\, September 24 from 1 PM to 2 PM.  Doors open at 12:30 PM.\n\n\n\nThis event is a Free event Open to the public.  Bring a friend or neighbor and show them what a great association we have.\n\n\n\nAs always\, seating is limited\, so you are encouraged to register in advance to reserve your spot.  Visit the PGICA's website at http://www.pgica.org and go to Calendar/Special Events to register.\n\n\n\nYou are welcome to BYOB and Snacks if you like.\n\n\n\nThere will be a 50/50 raffle\, plus a prize of a signed book by Libby.\n\n\n\nThe Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association is celebrating it's Diamond Jubilee Anniversary this year.  In recognition of our 60 years of service to the residents of our community\, we are holding our PGICA60 Fall Fundraiser.  Please support our organization by making a tax-deductible donation so we can continue delivering the level of services\, activities and programs for you and your neighbors.  Take a minute and watch the video which explains how you can help us.  You can also support us by stopping by for an Early Viewing of our Silent Auction on Friday\, October 2 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the PGICA.  Thank you.
